Telos Security Force (TSF) soldier

Knights of the Old Republic 2

telos _security_forces The Telos Security Force, often referred to as TSF, was the regional military organization that managed Telos's planetary security before the destruction of the planet's surface during the Jedi Civil War, but after that their role became even more important. In these dark times the TSF headquartered on the newly built Citadel Station and was charged with protecting the efforts of the Telosian Restoration Project on Telos IV. However, it was often ineffective due to infiltration of the Telosian Council, the acting government over Citadel Station, by the everywhere present Czerka Corporation officials, and the influence that corrupt and money hungry organizations such as Czerka and by the local mafia, the Bumani Exchange.

tsf_arrest exile in charge of destroying peragusWhen the Jedi Exile arrived on Citadel Station aboard the Ebon Hawk the TSF arrested her/him and her/his companions Atton Rand and Kreia for their supposed involvement in the destruction of the Peragus Mining Facility atton_kreia_exile_forcecage_telos prisonfrom where Telos got their fuel, but also was functioned as a fuel source for the half of the Galaxy. During the investigation the TSF failed to prevent her/his ship the Ebon Hawk, and the clever droid, T3-M4, who were working aboard of the handmaiden_steals_ebonhawkship, from being stolen from a sealed hangar by Brianna, the Handmaiden. This loss, and the untrue charging were really stressed the Exile Jedi, and the team. Despite this inauspicious beginning, the Exile yet befriended the TSF, and helped them many times in security things, especially after a man called Batu Rem, infiltrated in the the jedi exile helped a lot for the telos security forcesTSF, and tried to kill the imprisoned hostages. The Exile later helped the TSF locate a missing man named Batono, uncover the origins of a bounty hunter who had infiltrated the ranks of the TSF, find two criminals who had escaped from TSF headquarters, and stop a smuggling ring on the station led by the Duros Samhan Dobo, who was selling goods, weapons, and other staff on the black market, even things, that endangered the restoration project, too.

telos_attacked by nihilus fleetThe Exile team later defended Citadel Station visas_exile_mandalore_nihilus fightfrom Darth Nihilus during the Battle of Telos IV, infiltrating into the flagship of the Dark Lord, challenging and killing Nihilus in a lightsaber fight. Then Ravager was finally blown up with proton bombs, planted 4 locations around the ship. mandalore_proton_coreThen the small team returned to Telos surface, to help the Telos Security Force soldiers in the street fights, since they were already fighting the Sith troops, who were rumbling in the tsf_frontlineCitadel Station. The front however was standing still at some locations, because none of the opposing forces were ready to launch an attack against the enemy. In these areas the Exile team was a large reinforcement, who helped koonda militia_help defend telosthe TSF soldiers to attack the Sith lines, alongside Mandalore's Mandalorians, with the help of some Onderon Royalist soldiers from Queen Talia, and even a Light Side Exile can receive some help from Khoonda Militia soldiers from Dantooine if they helped them out previously to repel the attack of Azkul. The Jedi Exile planned the attack, talking it over with the highest ranked TSF officer, who was present, then with her/his tsf_commanderJedi companions, how to lead the attack. In my third game play, when I chose a female Exile, I happened to accompanied with the Disciple, and Bao Dur. Then together, they swept out the Sith aggressors from all over the tsf_vs_sith exile disciple baodurCitadel Station, liberating it. During the Exile's stay, the commander of the TSF was Lieutenant Dol Grenn, who was not very kind with the Exile when they met, but later they formed an alliance, and worked together to get rid of the criminals, and to make peace in the Citadel Station. So when the time has come, and the Exile had to leave, he said farewell to her/him with a friendly attitude, being grateful for the Exile had done to him. The Exile remained loyal to Telos for all of tsf_grennhis/her journey, and never forgot how big is the trouble at Telos, and how they need of assistance. So when she/he arrived at Nar Shaddaa, and met the local Hutt crime boss, Vogga, she/he resolved the fuel problem by persuading the Hutt to sell and transport fuel to Telos, which had empty tanks because of the destruction of the Peragus mining facility. Since a new source of fuel was secured for Citadel Station, this ensured the continuation of the Telos Restoration Project.

Telos IV, often called simply Telos, was the fourth world within the Telos system, located in the Outer Rim Kwymar sector. Situated on the strategically-important Hydian Way hyperlane, on the edge of Galactic Republic-controlled space, the Telosian military and economic power bases were considered vital to the survival of the Old Republic. During one of the earliest battles of the Jedi Civil War, Telos was devastated by forces of the Sith Empire. Under orders from Darth Malak, former Republic admiral Saul Karath demanded the planet's surrender; upon being rebuffed, he carried out his orders to bombard the surface. Soon after, the revengeful Sith fleet turned against the Jedi Order, and attacked the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine destroying it with the possible loss of many valuable Jedi relics. One of the few survivors, telos_polar region secret jedi academyJedi Master Atris chose Telos as the site for a secret Jedi academy and repository. It was a strategic move, since that was not possible, that the Sith, who had just destroyed the planet, would search after her, especially at the northern polar region with handmaiden_makes_exile_surrendericy plateaus and snow-capped mountains and no life sign, just like the Rebel base was at Hoth. This academy was eventually built and used by Atris and the Echani Handmaidens who was some kind of servants and students in the same time. Atris hoped to rebuild the shattered Order one day, using this Academy as a secret backcountry.

telos_citadel_station Soon after, the Old Republic also arrived to Telos. During this time it was one the few planets under the direct control of the Republic and planetary security was managed by the Telos Security Force. For the purpose of implementing and monitoring the restoration progress, Citadel Station was constructed to orbit tsf_hangarTelos; the immense structure should serve as a residence for the individuals associated with the project, control center, and headquarters of the Telosian Council. TSF soldiers were often seen patrolling or guarding vital areas at the Citadel Station, such as the hangar bays, the corridors, the TSF headquarter, and other vital locations. Between the structures and buildings of the immense telos_shuttlesspace station that orbited the planet, space shuttles transported the citizens, the farmers, the workers, and even the travelers for free. If anyone had something to do in the other building, they can just sit in a free flight, travelled to the opposite site of the block, or as they called it, to the other "module". Telos was chosen the Ithorians to manage a Republic-sponsored restoration effort. The Ithorian herd of Chodo Habat was chosen to manage the project. The barren surface with its highly corrosive atmosphere was divided by a series of complex shield networks into telos_plateaus with flora and faunaRestoration Zones in which the Ithorians first stabilized the atmosphere and weather patterns, and later introduced various species of flora and fauna from ecologically rich planets such as Ithor, Onderon, and the jungle moon of Dxun. Apart from cultivating simple grasses and wildflowers, due to their extraordinary hardiness and ability to survive, the Ithorians planted short blba trees and the exotic bachani flowering plant. Many types of herbivores were imported, supplemented by the omnivorous cannoks from Dxun to maintain their population. Due in part to the Light Side Exile's efforts, the Restoration Project was ultimately successful, and Telos once again became a lush planet, with many Sacred Places and national parks that drew tourists from throughout the galaxy.

This was however very hard to achieve. The growth of Citadel Station proceeded at a pace that that left the small Telos Security Force patrols ill-equipped to police the whole station. Moreover, the lapse in security gave an intergalactic criminal organization, the Exchange, under the guise of the Bumani Exchange Corporation, the opportunity to expand its operations on Citadel Station, also the Czerka Corporation, having previously integrated them into the Telosian political system. They both wanted the project to fail, or at least to last so long, as possible, because they was interested in gaining advantages (money, power, etc) while the situation was not stabilized. So they used every opportunity to confront the Ithorians, with critics, claiming they are incompetents and dilettantes, just throwing the money away, doing nothing useful, and even they would bankrupt the whole project. Also, they attacked them not just with words, but with aggressive acts, too. The pressure put upon Citadel Station by the Exchange and Czerka endangered the Telos Restoration Project itself, so the TSF had to involve the conflicts, and policing around the station. While the TSF struggled to maintain the law and peace above the station, the Exile team travelled down the surface to clear it from Czerka mercenaries. These criminals and mercs even occupied the abandoned old military base. telosi_tank_droidIn due course, the Exile and her/his group traveled to Restoration Zone RZ-0031, she/he encountered the Zabrak Bao-Dur, a former comrade who was one of the planetary shield's designers. Frustrated by the tsf_station partolTelosian Council's ineffectiveness, he was attempting to halt Czerka's operations single-handedly. They accompanied together, and killed every telosian_tank_droid miniaturesenemy around, including the Czerka mercs, thugs, and other criminals, wiping everybody out from the surface and from the military base. In the base, they encountered a large machine, called Telosian Tank droid that attacked them in the hangar of the base. That monstrous droid was able to launch fire, ice, proton, and plasma bolts against them, so the small team had to destroy this giant too, before the finally liberated Telos.

Take a look at my custom TSF soldier figure!

rebel_fleet_trooperIf we can remember the outfit of the rebel fleet troopers from the Episode IV, The New Hope, we can immediately see how they look alike. The water drop like, some aspect a bicycle helmet like helmet, the bluish uniform, and the whole design is pretty the same concept. If we see it as an evolution, the Rebel fleet trooper was seen later, however I am sure, the TSF uniform was inspired by that earlier concept.
